You can barely find the time to drag a comb through your hair, right? Let alone take a shower or make dinner? With a newborn session at home, you can stay exactly as you are and I come to you!
The charm of an in home newborn session is in the authentic setting of your home and garden. Within the first two weeks of birth, your baby is still as curled up as she was during pregnancy, so many families like to capture this precious time. However, whenever you feel ready is the right time for taking photos of your new baby! All developmental stages have their unique characteristics.

As a natural Dublin newborn photographer, I love to do a documentary family session focused on the authentic way you interact and take care of your baby. Capturing all the little details. Cuddles on the sofa, feeding baby, holding tiny baby feet and hands... Exploring your family interactions in the different rooms of your house, scoping out beautiful sources of natural light.

Baby portraits in natural light.
There is a beauty to all natural light family photography. I often schedule newborn family sessions around 10/10.30 am in the morning when families are awake and small children have had enough sleep. Window light can produce dramatic pictures with high contrast between light and shade. I will also look out for sky lights, reflections off mirrors, light patterns on a wall...Don't worry about your home being "too dark", having to think outside the box when it comes to light can result in unique baby photos. Just as every home is different, every newborn session is unique!
Also, in the summer months we can make the most of sun outside. below, under the pergola in dappled light with mum and baby girl.

As with my outdoor sessions, all the family is welcome for in home family sessions. Older children, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, pets!!

You will have a gallery of all the best moments from our time together. There is no need to pick and choose your favourites as I give a complete collection with each of my sessions. I like to blend classic black and white edits with vintage inspired colours. (classic black & white newborn portraits )
Below, even a bright summer day can be edited in softer colours so that baby is the centre of focus! Here, in the garden with mum.

As a Dublin natural newborn photographer there are four main sessions to choose from, from shorter 45 minute sessions to half day and full documentary day sessions centered around a "slice if life.
