In a recent family photo session in Carysfort Park, Blackrock, the red of the falling leaves complemented the pop of red from my daughter's gloves. We experimented with hand gestures and close-ups to add a touch of drama!

Recently, I captured this gorgeous family below in a mini session in a Blackrock park ....I loved getting to ground level and capturing these two little ones playing with mum's long skirts.
Experimenting with Natural Light and Colour for Emotive Family Portraits
Golden hour light is my favorite for family photography Dublin sessions, bringing warmth and dimension to outdoor shots.
My family photo shoots have a gentle, vintage inspired quality. I favour cinematic black and white edits or subtle, slightly de-saturated vintage colour.
One of my favourite things to do is to play around with tint to get just enough warmth and red tones in my images, whilst still preferring a really natural look that isn't too bright or saturated. I find golden hour lights needs minimum re-touching as the light is usually almost perfect. Soft mellow light is very flattering for most family portraits.
If I am doing a photo session earlier in the day I will look out for the shade of trees, and thankfully, in my favourite gardens around Blackrock there are plenty to choose from!
