As of 2024, I have been focusing a lot on shorter length family photo shoots, from 45 minutes to one hour. I also have mini seasonal sessions that run throughout the year in my local area of Blackrock, Dublin. These include 30 minute mini sessions in a rewilded meadow garden that has an atmospheric little courtyard and rustic bench for greyer days when it is overcast, and also beach sessions at nearby Seapoint.

I specialize in a mix of classic portraits as well as capturing more candid moments with a documentary style. In general, the 30 minute mini sessions will cover timeless portraits of family members including children and babies, and some time left over for more candid shots!

I took some pictures of my son with an old frame I found lying about & he started to really revel in his love of being the center of attention, and here literally, center frame. This picture is what I might call an "in-between" moment, where his head was thrown back in a beautiful, radiant smile.
Every parent loves to see a smiling child portrait. When I show them the best moments from their family photography session in Dublin, these are usually a favorite straight away...
My editing style favors classic black and white and color with a vintage-inspired touch. Vintage-inspired picture editing brings a timeless beauty to photographs, evoking nostalgia and warmth. It adds depth and character, creating images that feel both classic and enduring. The subtle tones and rich textures of this style highlight the emotions and connections within each family portrait.
Look at baby's gorgeous smile here - I love to get in close and capture all the joyful details in my frame.
Using natural props at home or in the landscape can bring the best out of your children or baby - and bring on the happy moods and smiles. Here baby reaching up to grasp violet blooms in the park in dappled sunlight...
My favorite photographs do not always have obvious emotions, as I tend to favor a mood that is less obvious. Enigmatic if I'm lucky enough to capture that in a portrait. A little quirky, even. There can be so much communicated in the eyes and the placement of hands in a child or family portrait, but a big smile usually eclipses every other emotion.
In this recent photo shoot, I love these children's expressions. Even though the boys are still smiling into the camera, this little girl gazing up between her brothers with such a serene, happy expression on her face, lost in her own world is lovely.
My special interest is authentic family, baby & newborn photography, including both classic family portraits and sessions with a documentary approach. Capturing moments of love, connection (..yes & JOY) as they arise.
