Here, family photographs of my own family. I took these when on holiday this summer.
I love a summer family photo shoot, and when it's my own family, it's just as fun! And I get to experiment with my camera & learn new things
I adore visiting England in the summer, and this year there was a heatwave, so even better!
We went over to Glastonbury to visit my sister & her kiddos. I have 5 nieces & nephews that I love to bits
We went on lots of trips around the countryside. Also, we stayed in the house & garden where the children played.
Grass grass fights, water fights, playing with their toys late into the summer evening.
In the garden that week I focused my attention (...and camera lens...), on my oldest & youngest niece.
Here is a selection of portraits of my older niece in particular
I hope to complete a photo "story" with my ten favorite pictures of my week there
This is documentary family focuses which is not staged or posed and focuses on natural moments & authentic expressions and gestures
I tried to capture them here documentary-style in the garden.
Focusing on their expressions, hand gestures & movements.
I also wanted to show the wild untamed garden as a source of their games & inspiration (more to follow of the garden with planting).
I've been playing with black & white and color.
With the color I've been experimenting with a (slightly) new editing style whereby the saturation is lowered and the vibrance slightly heightened. It is subtle but I am noticing a difference on how I am editing my family photo shoots for color too.
Doing totally personal family photography projects like this is so liberating & a great way to experiment with my color editing which I have wanted to do for a long time.
I love to include a rich palette of color in my Dublin family sessions. I love deep, atmospheric color as well as timeless black & white
I am a professional family photographer Dublin. I cover lifestyle & family as well as baby & newborn. I specialize in natural newborn at home sessions
More to follow of this project soon. Have a wonderful week, enjoying the last bit of the summer sunshine, Cara x
