Hi, I'm Cara, a family, baby and maternity photographer specialising in family portraits and documentary style sessions of your loved ones, including pregnancy sessions outdoors or in your own home.
Dublin offers beautiful locations for your maternity session, from pretty beaches and parks, to cobbled streets and City squares. Gems like Sandycove Beach, 40 Foot and Killiney Hill or the National Botanical Gardens of Ireland, bring timeless backdrops to your maternity portraits.
I offer year round seasonal mini family sessions at Blackrock and Seapoint, which can be perfect for maternity sessions as well. Cherry blossom in Spring and Autumn colour is a beautiful way to show off your pregnancy.
Inviting Romance into Your Maternity Portraits
Maternity photography is a celebration of love, and of bringing new life into the world. My sessions focus on capturing the love between the two of you, and your baby to be. This results in heartfelt images that you and your baby will cherish over the years.
Pregnancy portraits invite the look and feel of a couples, engagement or surprise proposal session, with the added emphasis on your baby being the star of the show. If you're pregnancy has made you think of getting married, rather than the other way around, I have also started to offer small wedding sessions!
Wear Something You Love!
Highlighting your pregnancy form is essential for beautiful maternity portraits! You can go for long, flowing dresses if it's sunny enough, especially in the second or third trimester when your shape is more defined.
I give wardrobe tips for all my family and lifestyle sessions. These help you to coordinate with the natural landscape around you, but keep the focus of the session firmly on you, and your natural, authentic interactions. Earth tones and neutrals can work well in nature, and layering natural textures like wool, suede, and silk.
When Dublin's weather is unpredictable (which it always is!), you can always choose an in home and garden session, where you can even strip off and show more skin!
Creating Vintage Inspired Maternity Photography
Expect to see a maternity gallery filled with warmth and honesty. Vintage inspired colour is gentle and focused on creating warm, ambient tones. My black and white photography is about creating depth and texture, with a looks like film feel.
